COVID-19 Monitoring Update

Lighthouse Village members and staff,

The health and safety of our staff, members, and community remains to be our top priority and as a result the Lighthouse Board of Directors has unanimously directed the management to temporarily close the Park for recreation and nonessential use and to be of enforceable compliance with the State Governor’s Executive Orders; 2020-20 (closure of places of public accommodations) and  2020-21 (Stay at Home/Shelter in Place).

Also in coordination with the Center of Disease Control, Michigan State Health Department, and Calhoun County directives travel restrictions have been placed in 36 of the 50 states; therefore, we are recommending all members remain at their current homes until such restrictions are lifted. For the safety and security of our staff and community our public places of accommodation are currently closed including all facilities, playgrounds, and places of egress.

We realize Lighthouse Village is a temporary summer home to many, but please understand returning to the park before restrictions are lifted puts our staff and community at risk as well as our State Licensing Permits to continue to operate. It also potentially extends the time frame in which closures may have to occur. Now is not the time to take unnecessary risks not only for ourselves, but for others. Please stay where you are until such a time that is safe and recommended to get back out. As soon as our places of public accommodation may re-open, we will do so. The gate will not be accessible to members beginning Monday 4/06/2020 and we will be monitoring all entries by appointment only allowing otherwise entry for emergency or life threatening situations. We are not allowing members in to retrieve personal nonessential items, perform site maintenance, or to walk and recreate in the park. If you are found on site without proper authorization, you could be asked to leave and may be subject to Michigan State criminal misdemeanors and or fines.

The Park will continue to be properly maintained by essential employees for minimum basic operations required for office administration and infrastructure maintenance required for operational needs. Rules of spring cleanup mandates will be temporarily suspended and park mowing will be initiated at growth heights exceeding three inches including those sites with red tags if needed.

If as a member you need special assistance regarding full time RV living, please contact the office to see if you may qualify for “Otherwise Needy” and homeless criteria. We are working with other campgrounds across the country to address such situations.

We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding in trying to be flexible as we all work through these trying times together. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the entire staff, families, membership, state, and nation while we continue to evolve through these changes to combat COVID-19.

Stay safe and God Bless

March 23, 2020

Lighthouse Village members and staff,

As most of you are aware, these are uncertain times of elevated precautions of concern for everyone.  The health and wellness of our campers, staff, and their families are of the utmost concern as we continue to monitor all updates and execute increased standards of sanitation practices. At Lighthouse Village, we believe it’s important as a community to be able to depend on each other by being smart and responsible and taking action based on factual information and with a team spirit of compassion and cooperation we will prevail through this difficult time.

At this time Governor Whitmer ; Acting under the Michigan Constitution of 1963 and Michigan Law, has signed EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 2020-21 Shelter in Place Order ordering  all individuals living within the State of Michigan to stay at home or at their place of residence subject to exceptions in section 7 and temporarily suspend activities that are not necessary to sustain or protect life.

Lighthouse Village Resort is a campground and not a full time residency; therefore, in accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services the following recommendations of suspension and or rescheduling of operational services will be implemented and effective immediately until further notice:

*Temporarily suspending operations of the office, store, and phone lines. Business payments received by mail, on line, or via the drop box will continue to be processed and we will do our best to return phone messages and reply to emails.

*Delaying or rescheduling of all organized Activities. Please continue to review LHV calendar for updates.

*Buildings considered points of public gathering shall remain closed until Order 2020-21 is lifted.

*Temporary closure of the Center modern Bathroom and shower facility in compliance with the MI DNR and State Campground recommendations. Porta toilets will be available. Flushing of waste water from RV’s is prohibited and subject to fines and penalties as the sewage system will dry and plug due to limited effluent water to waste ratios.

*Water will currently not be turned on and there will be a delaying or rescheduling of seasonal well water coordination, chlorinating, and start up for RV site use until emergency field management determinations are instituted by the proper authorities.

It is our commitment to you to continue to monitor any changes for the COVID-19 pandemic and adhere to State Directives as they are issued to help prevent the spread of the virus and help serve and protect you to the best of our capabilities and resources.

Stay Home, Stay Safe, and Stay Healthy

March 20, 2020

Lighthouse Village members and staff,

At Lighthouse Village, we believe it is our role and responsibility during this time to prioritize the health and wellbeing of our members and employees. As a precautionary measure due to State of Michigan recommendation, the Lighthouse Village office will be closed as of March 23, 2020 until further notice. Members are not restricted from their personal property. The park will not be open for operational use at this time; however, the center bath house will currently remain open for sanitation purposes.

Due to COVID-19 and the economic hardships it has caused, Lighthouse Village will be extending the due date on all invoices to April 6, 2020 or further determination without late fee penalties. Payments will be accepted through online services, mail, and/or at the office drop box. Any late fee invoices that were assessed on March 6, 2020 will be removed, and if already paid credits will be redirected and applied to 2021 membership dues.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Resort Manager

James D. Arver
